LTRT Accessibility is dedicated to transforming our communities by removing barriers in work, school, and transportation. We recognize the spectrum of ability across the human experience and support organizations in their journeys towards universal accessibility. We provide consulting services in areas such as accessibility planning (e.g. ACA, AODA) strategic planning, legal compliance, policy analysis, digital technology assessments, and change management. LTRT has worked with dozens of federal agencies, including the Senate of Canada and the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission, to plan for accessibility. We analyzed their accessibility, developed and applied a prioritization framework, consulted people with disabilities, interviewed their peers, and drafted the accessibility plan.
We have supported dozens of organizations to develop a plan for short and long-term consultations with employees and stakeholders with disabilities. These have included surveys, interviews, focus groups, online platforms, advisory committees, and our Accessibility Advisory Group.
VIA Rail retained LTRTA to ensure accessible communications in web and printed materials, and for direct contact with users. LTRTA completed a Gap Analysis of current communications, identified priorities for improvement, and developed an accessible communications guide for VIA Rail implementation.
LTRT worked with eCampusOntario to develop supports for AODA compliance and to improve the accessibility of educational technology tools in the post-secondary community. We developed knowledge translation tools around AODA compliance reporting and assessment; and built capacity in the sector for accessible development and procurement of technology.
We completed a Gap Analysis of a Crown corporation's recruitment practices to identify opportunities to improve the recruitment of people with disabilities. This project included a current state assessment, literature review, peer organization interviews, and developing an implementation plan. We also completed a process mapping project for another Crown corporation on recruitment, retention, and accommodation of people with disabilities.
The Toronto Transit Commission retained LTRTA to review employee-facing ITS services and policies to improve accessibility for employees with disabilities and ensure AODA compliance. Our services include review of current and expected legislative requirements, the development of an evaluation framework for services, technologies, policies, and plans; assessments; and implementation supports and plans to improve accessibility of ITS resources for employees.
